      Phosphorene is a kind of novel two-dimensional material, which has acquired a great deal of attention because of its good performances such as direct band gap and excellent electron mobility. The preparation of phosphorene are described. The applications of phosphorene in the fields of field-effect transistors, optoelectronic devices, vapor sensor, soler cell, etc. are presented systematically, as well as the main limitation of the applications. Finally, the future development trends and application prospects of phosphorene are summarized.
